JASCO | FT/IR Spectrometers
The FT/IR-4X is a powerful Mid-IR FTIR spectrometer (wavenumber range 7800 to 350 cm-1), with many features that you find in a research grade instrument, such as non-hygroscopic KRS-5 windows to prevent damage to the interferometer, a Peltier stabilized DLaTGS detector and a high output ceramic source for maximum sensitivity. Permanent optical alignment is guaranteed by corner cube (retro-reflective) mirrors with auto-alignment for maximum energy. With a resolution of 0.4cm-1 and a S/N greater than 35,000:1.
The size is only 386 (W) × 479 (D) mm, and we have also achieved a 30 % reduction in power consumption compared to conventional models. It is research-grade in performance, functionality and expandability, and supports high resolution, high S/N, high sensitivity detectors, extending measurement wavenumber, microscopy with linear array detector, and rapid scan. The sample compartment is 200 mm wide, the same width as that of a large model, and can accommodate conventional accessories, including those from third parties

A 24-bit A/D converter, a low-noise electrical system, a high-intensity light source, a high-performance detector, and a highthroughput optical system all contribute to a high S/N of 35,000 : 1, enabling to perform small volume samples measurement and microscopy measurement with high sensitivity.

The maximum resolution is 0.4 cm-1 and the vibrational spectrum of gas can be measured. In addition, the automatic aperture wheel sets the optimal aperture size according to the resolution.

The specially controlled diode laser (VCSEL) has realized a long-life time and contributes to the downsizing of the instrument. By oscillating the laser with high precision using the XLD method, the FT/lR-4X has a wavenumber Accuracy of 0.0005 cm-1 which is equivalent to that of a He-Ne laser.


Proven and robust sealed interferometers protect optics that are sensitive to humidity with high sealing. There is no need to energize all night or replace the desiccant regularly to protect the optical elements. The built-in temperature / humidity sensor constantly monitors and can be used with confidence. In addition, KRS-5, which has excellent moisture resistance, is used for the interferometer window plate. A long-life semiconductor laser is used as the sampling laser, so it can be used safely for a long period of time. A corner cube mirror is used for the interferometer mirror to cancel the effects of disturbances in real time.
The FT/IR-4X Series is controlled by Spectra Manager™ Suite cross-platform software. This includes a wide variety of standard functions such as spectra measurement, Quick-Start, QC Compare and quantitative analysis. Additional applications can be added, such as chemometrics (PLS, PCR, CLS etc.). The sample measurement screen can be fully customized according to user requirements and each customized screen and parameters can be saved for different users (User Adaptive Software).

The data collection/processing sequence can be defined to include several data manipulation commands, activated as the spectral data is collected. The final results after all processing commands are completed are displayed as the final spectrum.
